After returning from working in hospitality management in the US Virgin Islands, Patrick Demarco returned to Greenville and needed a job. Why not open a neighborhood cafe and bodega serving fresh foods at a reasonable price?
Snack Works is just that, discreetly situated across the street from bustling Falls Park. The store’s shelves are lined with a wide variety of tasty and healthy organic options including bulk nuts, candy, and an incredible selection of cold beverages. Along with the fresh salads and made to order smoothies, you can get a shot of wheat grass that Demarco grows himself.
Open 3 years, Snack Works has quickly become Downtown Greenville’s employee cafeteria with several large businesses naming Snack Works during employee orientation. Patrick tells us, “The same people come and have their own favorite. They order practically 4 or 5 times a week.” Patrick’s philosophy is “keeping it basic with only a few ingredients so each ingredient isn’t overpowered.” It’s a philosophy that keeps us coming back.
Standouts? With such an extensive menu of delicious smoothies, fresh wraps, tasty sandwiches and breakfast items it’s hard to choose! Scroll below to find out...
Let me introduce you to the Snack Works Panini. This one is full of flavor thanks to the pesto mayo and Patrick's seasoned press....
And the modest, but macho Veggie Salad Wrap. Think salad meets wrap. Romaine, spinach, kale, tomato, red onion, red pepper, lime juice, avocado, cucumber, and balsamic vinaigrette.
The wheatgrass is surprisingly sweet!
Looking for variety? Snack Works stocks everything from Kombucha to Ting.
Don't miss the Green Go Smoothie – kale, spinach, pineapple, and mango. It might look green, but it's sweet and delicious. You can substitute fruits and veggies. Custom orders are okay.
Everything is made to order by owner/operator Patrick Demarco. He’ll even bring it to you table.
The bright and delicious Green Oasis Smoothie.
The next time you find yourself hungry downtown, do yourself a favor and stop in to see Patrick and his lovely assistant, Ayla Hayes. Tell him we all say, hello.... Oh and if you read this far, make sure you ask for some of his fresh-made green salsa.
