Wanting to share a piece of the “Good Life” with the community, Greenbrier owners Amy, Chad, and Roddy host The Porch Series every Wednesday evening, giving the Upstate a chance to experience the beautiful views, sample delicious food, and enjoy live music on the porch.
“It’s important to bring the food to the people, and right from the farm, it’s important. It brings the community together; it connects them to where the food is coming from.” Chef Josh Sweat
The evening begins with Chef Josh bringing out mini gyros, featuring Greenbrier Farm’s own pasture-fed and farm-finished beef, pickled red onion, feta, and fresh tzatziki sauce perfectly paired with one of the various craft beers on hand or a glass of cabernet sauvignon on the porch.
Throughout the night the farm snack spread is kept fresh: watermelon bites with fennel, chili oil, and feta ‘dust’ delight, bringing a little of Chef Josh’s Southwest flavor to the South.
Darby Wilcox is no stranger to the stage, which is immediately felt from her first guitar strum to the last soulful chord, pulling the listener’s heart into every lyric as if it was your own memory.
Between climbing trees and exploring the lake, kids of all ages quickly become friends, filling the evening with adventure and a little taste of that ‘free range’ life of living on a farm.
Throughout the evening, Chef Josh brings tasty trays full of farm-grown bites. We thoroughly enjoyed the grit cake with goat cheese and pepper jelly.
The barn's porch invites visitors to enjoy some true country relaxation, rockin' to the rhythm of the late afternoon sun.
Get your competition on with a game of cornhole or hula-hoop to the night’s music beat.
